Webcomics

If you read the last post you will remember mentioning that me and my friend Benn have been throwing about our webcomic ideas again.

So here are some roughs, we aren't up and running yet but we have over 20 thoroughly planned strip ideas. You won't be able to tell whats going on and that's the way I like it, it maybe that I'm inherently evil.

People keep asking me "So whats your webcomic about" and it's a tough question. Though the way Ross described it to someone he knows is, "Shes making it with someone who runs Unknown Armies, that gives you an idea of how surreal it will be." Benn the guy who is primarily doing the writing for the comic is a superb bloke from New Zealand who I met via ORC: Open Roleplaying Society that runs every Saturday at Caffe Nero on Rose Street.

If you also look in my side bar you will see a small list of webcomics that I read. I also listen to a podcast called Webcomics Weekly with some pretty experienced cartoonists, Scott Kurtz of PvP, Kris Straub with Starslip Crisis, Dave Kellett with Sheldon and Brad Guigar with Evil Inc. So this really made me want to get back into working on the webcomics. If your thinking about getting into webcomics I would seriously recommend it.

You may have gotten the idea by now that I am in love with webcomics, though when it comes to printed it comes down to three words for me.

Calvin and Hobbes.

Thanks for coming by for a gander.

Here we go - sorry for the wait

Well here we go finally some sketches from the other week when I was workinging towards the 'wrinkles' image for the illustration friday piece I did. I enjoyed illustration friday it will be a good thing to try keep up doing over the summer to keep my creative juices flowing. I hate that expression.

Anyway sorry it took a while. I have accessment work to do that has to be handed in monday. Though It's good to look over some of my old back up work for projects again, I think I have have abit of development these last few weeks and I have started to actully feel settled in to the course. It took all the way to the last term. The fact that it is the last term surprises me. 3rd year is on the horizon (I hope).

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the sketches

Illustration Friday Entry - Wrinkles

Here is my entry for Illustration Friday this week it was enjoyable but ended up with me spending a lot of money and the Elephant House again. Oh well, I saw a couple of ladies talking and they spoke in whispers and "bitchy" from what I could tell. So I did an ad-lib of sorts. I hope you enjoy this, I most certainly enjoyed doing it. I may upload some of the other sketches soon as there are quite a few I'm quite happy with.

I had been doing lots of just black drawings some with a fine liner and some with a dip pen, this was fine liner. I hasn't used any colour really so far so I decided to test it on a throw away sketch I did earlier on and then I applied it carefully to these drawings. The ladies weren't really this horrific looking but I extenuated and added the words to make it look like it could either be a thought of one of them or them talking amoungst each other.

Thanks for visiting any feedback would be appreciated!
